This week's theme is Party, and since I just spent the day at a big, weekend-long party, I figured I'd post a picture from that. I chose one of my favorites, a shot of a pipes and drums band. Now, this may not look like much of a party to some, but it's from the North Texas Irish Festival, which is undoubtedly a partying kinda event, so it counts in my book.
I'll probably have some more pictures from the event at some point in the near future, but it won't be tonight... I'm exhausted!

Being of Scottish descent (ancesters were from the Isle of Skye) I love bagpipes whether in a Pipe & Drum Corp (like the Black Watch) or in a rock band (Dropkick Murphys and Clatterbone). Great photo.

Great shot! :) I hope someday I get to see people like this is real and listen to the music they play.
for a filipino to see men in skirts, it's one of a kind..
Carl, I agree with you completely. Bagpipes are one of the best instruments on the planet!
Munchkin Mommy, if you're in the Dallas area, it's not too late. The festival continues all day today at Fair Park. I'll be there till about 4:00, so if anyone reading this goes, stop by the bunny booth and say hi!
Fiona, it was a total blast -- can't wait to get back there this morning!
Aisha, if you've never heard the bagpipes, they are a treat indeed.
Bingskee, they're not skirts, they're kilts! It's the traditional clothing of Scotland. And don't ever tell a Scot that he's wearing a skirt -- them's fighting words!
With Scottish ancestry on both sides of the family, my youngest daughter had a piper for her wedding music. We love going to the Scottish games, where there are always also Irish danceers and craftsmen, though we don't get to any more often than every couple of years.
Ohh, I love this. We have a big Scottish Festival in Honolulu every year and even though we're not Scottish, Hubby and I always go. I love bagpipes!!
