Ivan, RIP

In the early morning hours of August 31st, Ivan lost his battle with Ehrlichia. He was, without question or doubt, the sweetest dog to ever have lived and will always have a place in my heart. He slept on my pillow, licked away my tears, and was always more than eager to please in any way he could. Though we had him only a brief seven months, I loved him like he was my own child, and I can't imagine a world without him. I hope he's up there romping and playing in that big dogpark in the sky, but I can't help but wish we had had just a little more time with him here on Earth. The world is a harder place without him. Still, I am grateful to God for the time we weregranted and for knowing this four-legged angel, and I know that he could not have found a more loving home. Please pray for our family as we learn to cope with this loss.

Note: In tribute to my sweet pup, I am keeping this post at the top of my page for at least the next month. Possibly longer. For newer content, please scroll to the next post.

Ivan had no God given soul, but Ivan touched your soul, so, Ivan was God-given to you, to enjoy. After all it took quite a Creator to create Dogs for us, to enjoy while we walk among hateful, deceitful and greedy humans. The same God who created us all, knew we would need friends that were friendlier than humans, and were faithful and obedient. Out of the worlds 5 or 6 billion humans, how many friends does the average person have? Not many, but a dog is a dog and I bet you, I could pet 99% of the world's dogs, and they would love me in a dog's way.
Well, I'm not making much sense, but just wanted to console you in your sorrow. Yes, we can feel sorrow when our pets die. But, there is no hell or heaven for dogs that die.
Maybe that is why dogs try to be happy most of their given days.....

And we are so hateful, deceitful and greedy.....

Yes we need more dogs to teach us how to be better humans.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I dont know what I would do if one of my little ones were to leave us. I have had Socks for a year, Abby and Blackie for about 9 months. I do want to share a really sweet poem.

i followed you here from your myspace.
i am very sorry for your loss. i recently lost a cat, and it was absolutely heartwrenching. it gets a little easier every day, and the memories bear less pain.

animals are people. they are friends. they are love.

How sad for you. Bob and I can relate. We lost our husky Enoch last year, and it was very difficult for us. Like you, we just wanted a little more time with him. There's just no replacing a dog that you love. Just remember that good dogs like Ivan come from great pet owners like you. Hang in there.

Oh I am so sorry for your loss. Your baby's picture looked so cute. I do understand since I have dogs and pups at home and I cannot imagine losing any one of them.
