Free music

Hmm...  Been a while.

I'm still here, just crazy busy lately.

Just wanted to stop in and share a link: Clickie here.

That'll take you to a short survey (no, not one of those surveys, this one's legit). If you complete the survey, you'll get a password to download a free 10 song sampler with music from Chasen, MercyMe, Addison Road, Catalyst Music Project, Building 429, Phillips, Craig & Dean, 33Miles, Laura Story, Jeremy Horn and Stellar Kart. I'll readily admit that there are some artists on that list that I'm not terribly excited about, but it's a sampler, so there's a pretty good mix.

Enjoy!

Oh, and hat tip goes to Adam of Hey, It's Free!

Musical Mondays: The Unwinding Cable Car

Lately, I've been completely enamored of Anberlin's "Unwinding Cable Car." I think it has a lot to do with the haunting melody coupled with the feel of the lyrics. Whatever it is, I completely love this song, even though it's a bit softer than most of what I listen to. So, without further ado, here's the song:

Here's the lyrics:

The Unwinding Cable Car Lyrics

And here's the Pandora list:
  1. This Hand is a Mighty Hand by Hoots & Hellmouth
  2. One of Three by James
  3. Whistle Blower by John Shain
  4. Anna by Taxi Taxi
  5. Scar That Never Heals by Jeremy Fisher

Musical Mondays: It's the End of the World As We Know It

This week I've chosen one of my 90s songs, "It's the End of the World As We Know It" by REM. Seemed appropriate after the sermon at church last night... (and no, it wasn't about the apocalypse. You'll just have to follow the link if you want to know.)

Anyway, conveniently, here's the song and lyrics all together. Sometimes YouTube makes things too easy, you know?

And here's what Pandora spit out:
  1. Judy is a Punk -- The Ramones
  2. Two Weeks -- Earl Grayhound (who?)
  3. Sold Me Down the River -- The Alarm
  4. Li'l Christine -- Material Issue
  5. All Gone Away -- Joyrider

Music Videos

I created a playlist on Gaia.com today, and just thought I would share it with everyone here. I get a lot of flack when I tell people I listen to Christian rock. Generally I get one of two responses. People either tell me that Christian rock is an oxymoron, or they assume I mean stuff like Michael W Smith and Point of Grace. I assure you, Christians CAN rock. Here are a few of my favorite songs to prove it.
