I came across the above image (minus the question mark overlay) on facebook today. This kind of message really bothers me because it's so prevalent in Christian circles today. So, I decided to take it apart and see if I can't pinpoint the truth.
Let's start with simple definitions. Dictionary.com has the following to say about believing vs. knowing:

Recently, I was contacted by the kind folks who make the "My Memories" digital scrapbooking program. They wanted to know if I'd be willing to host a giveaway of their software. After thinking long and hard about it (for all of about five minutes) I agreed to review their product here and give one away to one of my readers.
So, first things first. My Memories is a program designed for laying BunGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00113542972314523677noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7772586.post-37192657008231444142011-08-01T08:51:00.001-06:002011-08-01T08:51:36.844-06:00PETAJust had to share this...

I don't listen to every post, only the ones that are interesting to me. Today, I saw one that was about the concept of wealth redistribution and decided to see what Dave had to say on this. He entitled the post, "This Isn't a Fixed Pie." I couldn't agree more. I had simply never heard it said that way before.

The first place we tried seems just about perfect for us—unheard of. Other times we’ve shopped for churches it has taken months (or years) to find anything, so I was fully prepared for a long, and at times disappointing, search. I’m thinking this must be a God thing. I’m also thinking I should not be surprised.

I'm not entirely sure how I happened upon it, but I suspect it had something to do with Acuff's connection to Dave Ramsey. I suppose that's not important though.
Each time I see this particular blog show up in my rss reader, I know I'm in for a treat! Well, the first shirt discussed in the above article doesn't bother me at all. I don't 100% agree with its message, but I don't think it's worth protesting over. But the second? In our culture today, that's a dangerous message. I will get back to the design stuff. Soon, I hope.
This morning I have been privy to an interesting conversation going on about fan-fic. As someone who is very interested in writing, in fiction, and in copyright law, I'm intrigued. The best way I could come up with is to just go step by step and show you each item and how it was done.
For me, design is so often all about color. More often than not I start with a color palette and work my way from there. I shared ColourLovers with you earlier this month, and that's where IBunGirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00113542972314523677noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7772586.post-17063572684984007042010-04-25T22:23:00.000-06:002010-04-25T22:23:18.295-06:00Redesign!Well the redesign took a little longer to implement than I thought it would, so I'll have to share all the goodies of how it was done soon. That's what this whole blog thing is supposed to be about, right?

In fact it kills about 1.8 million kids every year. That's 5,000 a day. That's too many.Providing clean drinking water to the world is a daunting task. No one would claim it is not. It would cost about $10 billion to make clean water available to everyone. When I say new, I don't mean new to us. I mean our church has only existed for about eight weeks.
This brand spanking new church is called Vintage and follows the motto: "Learn to live, live to serve."

(If you're not familiar, go have a peek -- but be forewarned, it may make whatever beverage you're drinking come out of your nose.)
Last month sometime they featured this ad from Ralph Lauren. Clearly a disaster if ever there was one. Does anyone actually believe that's really what the model looks like?!?

Apparently, a cross in the Mojave Desert built to honor fallen soldiers of WWI is at the center of the ACLU's latest attack on common sense. They want it removed. Because it "has been judged to be an unconstitutional display of government favoritism of one religion over another."
